Health Care Consultations Available for Pantry Shoppers

The Bread of Life Food Pantry offers health care advice on alternate shopping days through representatives of Highmark Whole Care and UPMC. The representatives will consult with shopping clients as they await their turn to shop.

The representatives provide options for medical coverage to people who are on both Medicare and Medicaid. It is important to note their programs are based on income. Both programs offer Advantage Plans that can lower the cost of prescriptions, dental, and hearing aid coverage.

Both providers will consult with anyone, even if they do not qualify because of income standards.

Dozens of people have been helped by their services and we encourage families to seek out their advice when coming to shop at the pantry.
