Support the Pantry on August 9 - #ONEDAY 2022

Updated: May 22, 2023

The past two years of the pandemic have exposed deep vulnerabilities in the safety net serving individuals and families. Unemployment, lost revenue from mandatory closures, and increased demand for food, housing, and mental and physical health care have placed extraordinary demands on regional nonprofits fulfilling basic needs.

On Aug. 9, the #ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert will help our entire community to get behind the 200+ nonprofits in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties serving vulnerable populations. Your online donations will benefit organizations providing basic needs, including groups like the Bread of Life Food Pantry in Allegheny County, that assist people facing food insecurity.

#ONEDAY is hosted by The Pittsburgh Foundation and the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County. Between 8 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 9, friends of the Bread of Life Food Pantry along with members of the public can go online to pittsburghgives.org to donate. Look for the Bread of Life Food Pantry name and logo on the website to direct your donation to our organization.

The Pittsburgh Foundation is providing $500,000 in incentive funds for Allegheny County organizations to encourage the public to give. Your dollars will be matched up to a certain point.

As you are able, please give generously to support those most in need. And thank you in advance for joining us on this momentous #ONEDAY!
