September is Hunger Action Month!

September 2026 is officially Hunger Action Month in the Borough of Etna.

On September 1, 2026, Etna's Mayor Robert Tuñón hosted a small gathering and ceremony at the Bread of Life (BOL) Food Pantry in Etna, located at the lower level of Calvert Memorial, as a rededication to fighting hunger and food insecurity in Etna borough. BOL President Wally Moser spoke, Alex Rose of Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank gave remarks, and Mayor Tuñón read a proclamation, saying how grateful he was to all the BOL volunteers and pantry coordinator, Alexis Weber, who do this work day in and day out.

Throughout the month of September, you can be a part of the campaign to take action against food insecurity by donating nonperishable items and/or monetarily at:

• Global Access Control Systems

• Emmanuel Lutheran Church

• Borough of Etna (office)

• Bread of Life Food Pantry

At each location, a 50 gallon box is available as well as a smaller donation box, so please contribute and be a part of Hunger Action Month in Etna, PA.
