Volunteer Spotlight: Keona Avant

Meet Keona Avant, a new volunteer to the Bread of Life Food Pantry.

Keona is a shopper and decided one day to ask if she could also be a volunteer. The pantry welcomed her and she now plays an important role in the day-to day-operations of the pantry.

Keona assists on stocking days, working most often on packaging pet foods. She also escorts shoppers on Wednesdays.

Keona lives in Etna and came to the area from the Glen Hazel neighborhood of Pittsburgh. She has two adult sons and is a fan of kick boxing. She wishes there were boxing venues and bouts in Pittsburgh.

Keona likes helping people as a volunteer and admires how well-run the pantry is.
