Volunteer Spotlight: Jake Soeder

Jake Soeder is a new volunteer at the Bread of Life Food Pantry.

One day at a local grocery store, Jake happened to meet Alexis, the pantry manager, as she was coming out with a load of goods for distribution at the pantry. Jake asked what all the food was for and she told him about the pantry. Alexis invited Jake to come to the pantry to see if he would like to volunteer. Jake commented that he enjoys staying busy, so volunteering at the pantry was a perfect fit for him.

Jake now helps unload deliveries and goes to local markets to pick up donations. He is currently retired, but previously owned a residential painting business for many years. Jake enjoys interacting with the other volunteers at the pantry and likes the fact that he is helping people in need.

Jake remains active in other ways. He recently returned from a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains where he had a chance to hike and enjoy the outdoors. Jake has also hiked the Grand Canyon as well as Bryce Canyon (his personal favorite).

The Bread of Life Food Pantry is glad to have Jake as a new volunteer and very thankful for his efforts to support our local community members. Welcome Jake!
